ERACS now contains an interface to the Python scripting language, enabling the user to automate many functions including:
The Python Interface functions are included with all versions of ERACS and employ the same licence as ERACS. That means, a licence for the Fault calculation will be required to perform scripted Fault analysis.
ERACS currently uses Python versions 3.5 and newer.
Please consult the ERACS Python Interface documentation for more information.
Python is a powerful object-oriented programming language that is easy to learn and use. Python’s main benefits are:
A model of an AvK 3.914 MVA, 11 kV alternator has been included in our reference library.
Models of Prysmian 11kV, PILC, SWA, copper cables have been included in our reference library for the following cross-sectional areas: 25mm², 35mm², 50mm², 70mm², 95mm², 120mm², 150mm², 185mm², 240mm², 300mm² and 400mm².
Models that represent 5 A variants of the overcurrent, earth fault 1 & 2, and sensitive earth fault functions provided by Alstom's MiCOM P40 Agile P14D Intelligent Electronic Device (IED) have been included in our reference library.
Following Loadflow and Transient calculations an option has been included in the context menu for a branch (cable, transmission line or series element) that will create a Microsoft Excel report that presents a vector diagram showing the voltage at each end of the branch and the volt drop across it.
Models that represent the overcurrent, earth-fault and directional functions of the ABB REF 542plus protection relay have been included in our reference library.
Models that represent the overcurrent and earth-fault backup functions of the Schneider MiCOM P220/P225 protection relays have been included in our reference library.
It is now possible to include multi-line text on the single-line diagram and on protection time-current curves. Facilities have also been provided to add a border around the text item. Examples are illustrated in the associated files below.
It is now possible to configure ERACS such that the Add Element Toolbar is docked horizontally or vertically in the top-left corner of the window containing the active single-line diagram or is placed in its own floating window. By default, horizontal orientation is chosen. That can be changed to vertical or floating (not docked in a single-line diagram window) via the "General" page of the "Program Options" window (found in the "Tools" menu). The associated images below illustrate how the option can be configured, as well as the resulting placement of the toolbar.
